An article recently released by Phil Goldstein of FierceWireless called “Mobile payments and NFC: Who will get paid, and how?”, didn’t necessarily address the topic on who gets paid; however, it does provide information from interviews with managers at various companies that have direct interest in seeing NFC mobile payments become pervasive.
A couple of topics could have been further developed in the article to provide the reader with more insight into the NFC mobile payment labyrinth and reasons behind the limited growth of contactless payments to date. These topics include: consumer’s willingness (or lack there of) to use contactless credit cards, contactless terminal presence, Trusted Service Manager (TSM) as a “new” influencer in the payment model, contactless/RFID/NFC hardware technology and applications.
These topics and other areas will be reviewed in my white paper called “An article recently released by Phil Goldstein of FierceWireless called “Mobile payments and NFC: Who will get paid, and how?”, didn’t necessarily address the topic on who gets paid; however, it does provide information from interviews with managers at various companies that have direct interest in seeing NFC mobile payments become pervasive.
